Cheryl Willsie, MD
Restoring wellness through connection, self-discovery, and lifestyle medicine.
I acknowledge that I live on the ancestral land of the Chippewa (chip-uh-wah), Odawa (o-dah-wah), and Potawatomi (pot-uh-wah-tuh-mee) peoples, collectively known as the Anishinaabeg (ah-nish-i-nah-beg).
I am grateful to the people from Aamjiwnaang, Kettle Point, and Stony Point, who have generously shared their stories with me, deepening my understanding of this land’s history and people.
I am committed to learning about the impact and active process of colonization. I hope to serve as an ally in the movement to decolonize the practice of mental health care, psychiatry, and Western medicine, and I aim to take right action in speaking out against the oppressive systems of Western society that continue to cause harm to the land, animals and people of our world.
Please take a moment to reflect upon our shared responsibility to act with respect for the environment that sustains all life. I invite you to learn more about the decolonization movement and consider how you can become an ally should you feel called to do so.

Cheryl is committed to deepening her understanding of the complex nature of human suffering. Each individual is a unique tapestry of gifts, challenges and wisdom that impact how they experience and interact with the world.
Suffering cannot be reduced to a simple biological cause. Healing requires a comprehensive and individualized approach that addresses stress, lifestyle, as well as personal, ancestral and cultural trauma.
Cheryl identifies as neurodivergent and continues to explore the impact and meaning this has in her life. She is committed to her personal work and appreciates the opportunity to guide others on their journeys of healing and self-discovery.
